Courts- criminal courts in India
Supreme
Court of India: Highest judicial tribunal in the country. It is the court of record and
can punish for its contempt.
High
Court: Highest court in
State. The Chief Justice of the High Court is appointed by The President of
India in consultation with the Chief Justice of India and the Governor of the
State.
Session
Court: At every district headquarters for that district. The death sentences
passed by such courts need to be confimed by the High Court.
